Hey Experts,
I know your time is valuable, and I have a problem/question regarding CRM ICWEB and back-end ECC ITS launch.
I will try to make this as quick and straight-forward as possible. Thanks for just reading this.
Our SAP SP levels
CRM 7.0 EHP2
ECC6.0 EHP6
Also, we are a utility, so IS-U / CCS is what this is all about!
Right now, our users all use IE8 (don't laugh!). We launch to the CRM ICWEB client and our users have interaction center agent roles.
After validating an account (IS-U, we’re a gas utility), we launch to the ECC back-end to create a service order (for a tech to come to your house).
Currently, the CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS IS NOT using a Web Dispatcher to properly/intelligently load balance to any one of the several ECC app servers. The URL there is a sort of “DNS round robin”. I'd call it a "poor man's" LB.
At any rate, with IE8 things have been working OK, if the ITS launch sends you to back end ECC app server #1, you stay there. Good deal.
Well now, we’re starting to roll out IE9. And what I’ve found is I may get sent to app server #1 initially, but once I hit SAVE inside the ITS Launch Back-end, the call gets executed on a DIFFERENT app server.
That’s bad! App server #2 doesn’t have the session information of where I got with app server #1.
So I see something like this:
Above is the inital ITS launch to ECC back end. Notice I hit the app server #1
Now, after I fill out everything, and I'm ready to hit SAVE.. I do that and see below...sometimes.
And the ICM log (on APP server #2) tells me that too:
[Thr 4627] Mon Apr 28 12:40:20 2014
[Thr 4627] *** WARNING => DpExtractContextId: received cookie for foreign server >SID:ANON:App server1-_R3Q_00:IYYsPCOvpaSp2c_kPvfSHQtZOnAloaq0VSthzJ33-ATT< [dpxxic_mt.c 273]
[Thr 4627] *** WARNING => DpExtractContextId: received cookie for foreign server >SID:ANON:App Server1-_R3Q_00:IYYsPCOvpaSp2c_kPvfSHQtZOnAloaq0VSthzJ33-ATT< [dpxxic_mt.c 273]
Sooooo….the big question. Why does IE9 act differently with ICWEB and back-end ITS launch?
And….what can I do to resolve? Is there a IE9 browser setting, SAP note, or really, should I be using a web dispatcher in my CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS?
I'm sort of thinking that maybe we've been lucky all along that this has even worked at all, and now IE9 is giving me the error we should have always gotten....
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
