I am new to CRM and so may be asking an obvious question. I am a bit confused over the use of the Partner Function Org field in the transaction type configuration vs the rules that we use in the organisation determination profile.
In the configuration of the transaction type for interaction center transaction, we have 'Sold-To Party' set up as partner function org. In the org data profile assigned to this transaction, we are using the standard rule 14000148 to determine the service team (org unit). My question is, why would we need the Partner Function Org if we can control how we determine the org unit using the rule set up in the org profile?
Also, for interaction record, wouldn't it be more logical to use employee responsible as the partner function if the rule is determining the service team based on employee responsible? Under what circumstances would be using a different partner function like 'Sold-To'?
Can someone please enlighten me on this one?
